Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 24 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, warmly congratulating him on his birthday.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the historical role of Ilham Aliyev in strengthening Azerbaijan’s independence, restoring its territorial integrity, ensuring sustainable development, and enhancing the country's international prestige.
The leaders discussed current issues related to further strengthening the Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship and alliance. Special attention was given to the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
The sides noted significant achievements in 2024, which saw an intensive development of bilateral cooperation. The volume of mutual trade is growing dynamically, and joint projects are actively being implemented in sectors such as automotive, textiles, electrical engineering, agriculture, and tourism. The cultural and humanitarian exchange program is also proceeding successfully.
The presidents also exchanged views on the international agenda and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
