Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Production of solar-powered streetlights is set to expand in the city of Kuvasay in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana Region.

Regional Governor Khayrullo Bozorov reviewed the prospects for developing the Blue Carbon enterprise during a working visit to the region.

The company is located in the Bunyodkor Youth Industrial and Entrepreneurship Zone and specialises in manufacturing energy-efficient streetlights equipped with solar panels.

More than 50 young people currently work at the facility, which has an annual production capacity of 50,000 streetlights.

According to the company, domestic demand for these products is growing due to their potential to reduce electricity consumption and make use of alternative energy sources.

During his visit, Bozorov reviewed the production processes and the company's development plans. These include increasing output, expanding the product range, introducing new technologies and creating additional jobs.

The regional governor stressed the importance of further developing the enterprise, increasing production of energy-efficient goods and supporting youth entrepreneurship.

The specific timeline for the expansion and the amount of additional investment have not been disclosed.
