Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held an official meeting with Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, emphasizing the significance of strengthening direct working contacts between the key state structures of both nations.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the visit holds strategic importance for deepening the partnership between Astana and Tashkent. The Kazakh leader pointed to the decisive role that presidential administrations play in coordinating interstate relations and expressed full support for intensifying their interaction.
According to Tokayev, close cooperation between the two largest countries in the region serves as a foundational factor for ensuring stability in Central Asia. He emphasized that amid large-scale domestic reforms, both republics rely heavily on maintaining long-term peace and security.
Special attention during the dialogue was dedicated to technological development. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the current year, 2026, has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. Sharing his positive impressions from a previous visit to Bukhara—where he observed Uzbekistan's advancements in the IT and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors—he called for a consolidation of efforts in the face of global technological challenges. Concluding his remarks, the Kazakh head of state extended warm wishes to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In turn, Saida Mirziyoyeva expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed sincere greetings on behalf of the Uzbek leader. She emphasized that Shavkat Mirziyoyev prioritizes multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan and personally monitors the implementation of all high-level agreements.
According to the Head of the Administration, the joint efforts of Tashkent and Astana help shape a unified and substantial voice for the Central Asian region on the global stage. Saida Mirziyoyeva added that Uzbekistan views Kazakhstan as a reliable ally and sincerely welcomes the systemic transformations being implemented in the neighboring republic.
In the final part of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the progress of political and socio-economic reforms in both states. The participants outlined concrete steps to further expand trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
