Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Jamol Mahsudov and IT Park Uzbekistan Executive Director Jahongir Rajabov held a meeting in South Korea with Bernard Moon, co-founder of SparkLabs Inc., the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan said.
During the meeting, the sides discussed preparations for an accelerator program aimed at helping Uzbek startups enter the South Korean market. The program is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
Particular attention was paid to the startup selection process, the format of the acceleration program and opportunities for further cooperation between program participants and the South Korean venture ecosystem.
Under the program, Uzbek startups will receive support in entering the South Korean market and expand opportunities to establish contacts with potential investors and venture organizations, including TIPS, Mirae Asset and other participants in South Korea’s investment ecosystem.
Following the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan and SparkLabs Inc. signed an agreement to implement an accelerator program for Uzbek startups in South Korea. The document provides for cooperation in selecting and preparing promising technology projects, as well as supporting their entry into the South Korean market.
The sides also discussed further cooperation within international technology events. In particular, Bernard Moon plans to participate in ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026.
The joint program with SparkLabs will enable Uzbek startups to gain international expertise and mentoring support, establish ties with participants in South Korea’s venture ecosystem, and expand opportunities to attract investment and enter foreign markets.
SparkLabs Inc. is a South Korean startup accelerator and venture investment company founded in Seoul in 2012.
The company specializes in supporting startups at the seed and early stages, providing investment, acceleration, mentoring and assistance in entering international markets.
To date, SparkLabs has supported and invested in more than 320 startups. The company also runs international inbound and outbound programs aimed at attracting foreign technology projects to South Korea and supporting South Korean startups in entering overseas markets.
