Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — IT Park Uzbekistan and East Telecom discussed potential cooperation in developing artificial intelligence infrastructure, training specialists and supporting technology startups.
The meeting was held by IT Park Uzbekistan Director General Azamat Karamatov and East Telecom Director General Park Se-ju, IT Park Uzbekistan said.
One of the central topics was the development of data centers and the creation of infrastructure in Uzbekistan designed to meet growing AI-related demand. The sides discussed the use of modern solutions for power supply, cooling and data center management.
Particular attention was paid to workforce training. The parties considered providing Uzbek specialists and startups with access to the AI Certification program organized by KT Corporation, East Telecom’s parent company.
The program may cover Physical AI, AI agents, cloud technologies and digital transformation.
Another area of discussion was the participation of Uzbek technology companies in K-PATH 2027, an acceleration initiative of KT Corporation. The sides discussed a mechanism that would allow promising Uzbek startups to apply for the Startup Acceleration and Open Innovation programs, receive KT’s expertise and establish contacts with international corporate partners.
East Telecom has operated in Uzbekistan since 2003 and is part of South Korea’s KT Corporation group. KT acquired the company in 2007 and became its majority shareholder in 2013.
East Telecom provides fixed-line and wireless internet, corporate communications, dedicated data transmission lines, telephony, VPN and 4G LTE services. It also develops cloud infrastructure and digital transformation solutions.
Following its merger with EVO in 2020 and the integration of internet provider TPS in 2021, the company expanded its telecommunications and digital infrastructure capabilities. Data center development is one of its strategic priorities.
Park Se-ju has headed East Telecom since March 2026. Before that, he worked at KT Corporation, where he was involved in global business planning, overseas investments and international operations, as well as renewable and smart energy projects.
The initiatives discussed may serve as a basis for further cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan, East Telecom and KT Corporation in AI infrastructure, specialist training and the international acceleration of Uzbek startups.
