Heavy Rains Flood Over 90 Homes in Ferghana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — More than 90 residential household plots were flooded in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region as a result of heavy rainfall, according to regional emergency authorities.

The alert was received on 1 May at 21:41 via the national “112” emergency system, the regional emergency department reported.

Flooding was recorded in Besharyk district, in the “Vorukh Dasht” and “Yangikurgan” mahallas, where rainwater entered streets and courtyards of private homes.

Emergency personnel from the Ferghana regional emergency department, along with representatives of regional and district hokimiyats and territorial response services, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Operational response and cleanup efforts are currently underway.

All necessary personnel and resources have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the flooding, and the situation is reported to be under full control of relevant authorities.

According to preliminary information, no casualties have been reported. Authorities expect cleanup and recovery operations to be completed in the shortest possible time.
