Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Sergey Fomin and Humoyun Sultanov made a successful start to the men’s doubles tennis tournament at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, defeating the seventh-seeded pair from Chinese Taipei, Huang Tsung-hao and Wu Tung-lin.
The Uzbek duo lost the opening set 4–6 but managed to turn the match around. Fomin and Sultanov won the second set 6–3.
The winner was decided in a match tiebreak, where the Uzbek representatives played confidently and secured a 10–3 victory.
Fomin and Sultanov therefore won the match 4–6, 6–3, 10–3 and advanced to the second round of the competition.
