First International Mercure Hotel Opens in Khiva
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Mercure hotel has opened in Khiva, Khorezm Region, becoming the first international hotel brand in the region. The hotel was built with US$26 million in investment and has created 200 new jobs.
The hotel has 145 rooms and can accommodate up to 300 guests at a time. Its design combines national and modern styles intended to reflect the atmosphere of historic Khiva.
The launch of the hotel expands Khorezm Region’s hotel infrastructure and creates additional capacity for receiving tourists. The arrival of an international brand is expected to further strengthen the tourism potential of the Khorezm oasis.
