Ferghana, Germany Expand Vocational Education Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new phase of cooperation in vocational education is being launched between Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region and Germany, according to discussions held during a meeting between regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation of German vocational education providers.
The sides explored opportunities for cooperation with organizations within the iMOVE – Training Made in Germany network, which operates under Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
The talks focused on establishing modern training centres in Ferghana, improving foreign language instruction, and preparing specialists aligned with current labour market demands.
Members of the German delegation presented their experience in implementing vocational education programmes and training personnel for sectors including construction, automotive industry, healthcare, information technology, and logistics.
They also discussed in-demand professions in the German labour market and potential pathways for training specialists in Uzbekistan in these fields.
Governor Khayrullo Bozorov said that the development of vocational education, acquisition of modern skills, and employment creation remain key priorities for the region. He expressed readiness to support initiatives aimed at improving the quality of workforce training.
The meeting noted that a major training centre being established in Ferghana could become an important platform for joint educational projects in the future.
Both sides agreed to further develop cooperation aimed at strengthening human capital, training young people in modern professions, and preparing competitive specialists for the international labour market.
iMOVE (International Marketing of Vocational Education) is a German government-supported initiative promoting vocational education and training abroad. The programme is implemented under the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
