Denis Istomin advances to second round of St.Petersburg Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the second round of the St.Petersburg Open, which is taking place in Saints Petersburg in Russia. The prize money of the tournament is over US$455,000.

In the first round of the tournament Denis Istomin outplayed Samuel Groth of Australia in three sets – 6:4, 3:6, 7:5.

The sides played an hour and 45 minutes. Denis Istomin recorded three aces and three double faults during the match. Samuel Groth recorded ten aces and three double faults.

In the second round, Denis Istomin will play against Andrei Golubev of Kazakhstan.
