The first day of the second round of the Group I Asia/Oceania Zone of Davis Cup ended in Tianjin, China, on 4 April 2014. The score is 1-1.
Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin outplayed Ze Zhang in five sets with the score 6:4, 4:6, 3:6, 6:3, 6:4.
In the second match, Uzbekistan number two Farrukh Dustov lost to Chinese number one Di Wu in fight sets 6:1, 6:7(4), 6:7(4), 6:3, 7:9.
On 5 April, Istomin and Dustov will play against Zhe Li and Mao-Xin Gong in the double’s matches.
