Carmela Shamir to head Israeli Embassy in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Israel has appointed a new Ambassador of the country to Uzbekistan, an Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on 24 June 2013.

The newspaper said that Carmela Shamir has been appointed as new Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan. At this post, she will replace Hilel Newman.

The paper wrote that Carmela Shamir will soon start her mission as Israeli envoy to Uzbekistan.

Israel also appointed deputy ambassador to Uzbekistan. Hagit Mualem will work at this post.

The paper said that Tashkent approved their appointment.
