Belgrade to Name One of Its Streets Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — One of the streets in Belgrade will be named “Tashkent” as part of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Serbia. The ceremony to name the street was held during the visit, Uzbekistan’s presidential press service said.

The decision to rename the street was included in the programme of the Uzbek president’s visit.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Serbia noted that the appearance of Tashkent Street in the Serbian capital reflects the development of multifaceted relations between the two countries. During the current visit, bilateral ties were elevated to the level of a strategic partnership.

According to the two sides, the new name is intended to serve as a symbolic testament to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Serbia.

Tashkent Street is also intended to underscore the two countries’ commitment to further developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
