Akinfeev helps Russia to beat Spain

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Hosts Russia reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup, beating Spain 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The full time and extra time ended with the score 1-1. Russia defender Sergei Ignashevich put into his own net but Artem Dzyuba equalised from a penalty for the hosts in the 42nd minute.

In penalty kicks, Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev saved shots of Koke and Aspas to help his team to advance next round.
