Gayane Umerova discusses Expo 2030 preparations in Paris
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The head of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Gayane Umerova, held an official meeting with the Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzes.
The main topic of the negotiations was the discussion of strategic prospects for long-term cooperation, as well as reviewing the results of Uzbekistan's participation in the recent World Expo 2025 in the Japanese city of Osaka. At the global exhibition, the republic's national pavilion generated broad international response, received top marks from the expert community and organizers, and was officially awarded the gold prize in the key category of "Best Theme Development."
During the conversation, the sides prioritized the formation of a new roadmap for cooperation. Central to the agenda were questions regarding the large-scale preparation of the national pavilion of Uzbekistan for the next World Expo 2030, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Representatives of the foundation and the international bureau analyzed in detail the conceptual approaches to the future exposition, which is intended to demonstrate the Central Asian state's economic potential, creative industry, and unique traditions to the global community at the highest technological and artistic level.
In a separate segment, Gayane Umerova and Dimitri Kerkentzes considered the impact of major international exhibition platforms on the modernization of the domestic infrastructure of participating countries. The interlocutors mutually emphasized that integration into global BIE projects serves as a powerful catalyst for diversifying tourist flows, attracting foreign investment, and effectively promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Uzbekistan on the world stage.
Following the meeting, the sides confirmed a deep mutual interest in the systematic expansion of the partnership and agreed to maintain a constant working dialogue for the successful implementation of future interstate exhibition projects.
