AIIB and Uzbekistan Roads Committee Discuss New Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), led by Vice President Konstantin Limitovskiy, held talks with Uzbekistan’s Committee for Automobile Roads, the committee said.
The meeting was chaired by Committee head Jamshid Tursunov. The sides discussed expanding cooperation in road infrastructure and the implementation of new projects in Uzbekistan.
Among the ongoing initiatives is the reconstruction of a section of the A380 highway “Guzar–Bukhara–Nukus–Beineu” covering kilometers 150 to 228, with a total length of 78 kilometers.
Special attention was given to prospective road reconstruction projects in several regions. These include 188 kilometers in the Khorezm region, 328 kilometers in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and 158 kilometers in the Bukhara region.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is an international financial institution established at China’s initiative to promote financial cooperation and fund infrastructure projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
The bank is actively operating in Uzbekistan and is involved in the financing and implementation of major infrastructure projects.
