Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A total of 721 people relocated to Uzbekistan for permanent residence from abroad in the first quarter of 2026, according to the National Committee on Statistics, which detailed migration flows by country of origin and settlement regions within the country.

The largest share of arrivals came from Russian citizens, accounting for 34.1% of the total number of migrants. Kazakhstan followed with 19.7%, and Tajikistan with 12.2%.

Other countries of origin included Kyrgyzstan at 4.9% and Turkmenistan at 3.7%, while other states collectively accounted for 25.4% of all arrivals.

Regional distribution data shows a significant concentration of new residents in the capital. A total of 454 people moved to Tashkent during the reporting period. Tashkent Region ranked second with 126 arrivals, followed by the Republic of Karakalpakstan with 56 migrants.

Numbers were significantly lower in other regions. Samarkand and Khorezm regions each received 11 new residents.

Syrdarya Region recorded 10 arrivals, Navoi Region nine, and Bukhara Region eight. Andijan, Namangan, and Surkhandarya regions each recorded five arrivals. Jizzakh Region also registered five arrivals, while Fergana Region received 11 and Kashkadarya Region only one migrant.
