Woman detained for selling her 8-day-old baby
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- A woman, living in Besharik district of Ferghana region and selling her 8-day-old child, was detained.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, on 26 January 2019 she deliberately concealed her identity with a copy of a passport belonging to another citizen, she entered the maternity hospital of Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region and gave birth to a daughter.
On 3 February 2019, she sold her child to citizen S. for 3.5 million soums and was detained.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are underway.
