Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s public procurement totalled 281.8 trillion soums in the first nine months of 2026, while foreign investment worth US$42.6 billion was mobilised, the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement reported at a meeting with journalists.
Under the localisation programme, goods worth 117 trillion soums were produced, 88 new product types were introduced, and 10,400 jobs were created. The import substitution effect reached US$6.2 billion, while imports of 176 types of goods declined by US$838 million.
Of the US$42.6 billion in foreign investment, US$18.2 billion, or 43%, was attributed to local content. However, local content was not reflected in reports covering seven sectors worth US$965.2 million and 220 projects valued at US$2 billion. The agency said improvements to the accounting system were needed.
Competitive procurement amounted to 170.4 trillion soums, generating savings of 12.1 trillion soums. Direct procurement declined by 11.7% to 61.6 trillion soums.
In the Electronic Store, 75% of offers are now moderated using artificial intelligence. The Unified Industrial Portal has also been launched in test mode.
By the end of the year, the agency plans to increase localised production to 130 trillion soums, raise the import substitution effect to US$6.4 billion and introduce 112 new product types.
