Uzbekistan, World Bank Discuss AI Integration in Governance

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an expert meeting with representatives from the World Bank focused on economic transformation and strategic planning using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The Uzbek side at the talks was represented by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Umid Abidkhadjaev, while the international delegation included experts Stela Mocan, Liuda Bujoreanu, Randeep Sudan, and Maria Izabel Alves da Silva Neto.

The central theme of the discussion was the introduction of AI into public administration processes and the private sector. The parties discussed in detail the opportunities for applying intelligent technologies in socially significant areas such as education, healthcare, finance, and the provision of public services. World Bank experts presented advanced international experience in accelerating digital transformation, noting the importance of developing management decision-making mechanisms based on big data analysis.

During the meeting, the participants analyzed approaches to improving the quality of digital services, expanding access for entrepreneurs and citizens to modern management tools, and ways to stimulate the country's innovation ecosystem.

Following the negotiations, priority areas for further cooperation were identified, including the step-by-step integration of AI into the public administration system and strengthening Uzbekistan's institutional capacity to adapt to global technological changes.

The parties confirmed their intention to continue cooperating within the framework of implementing these promising initiatives.
