Uzbekistan Weather Service Warns of Possible Mudslides in Regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Hydrometeorological Service (Uzhydromet) has issued a warning about the possible occurrence of mudflows and related hazardous hydrological events in several regions of the country.
According to the forecast, due to expected rainfall from 28 April to 4 May, there is a risk of mudflows in mountain and foothill areas across nine regions of Uzbekistan.
The warning applies to certain districts in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Ferghana, and Andijan regions.
Meteorologists also note the possibility of rainwater accumulation, which may lead to localized flooding in some areas.
Residents of mountainous and foothill zones, as well as tourists and drivers traveling to these regions, are advised to follow safety precautions and monitor official weather alerts.
Authorities recommend avoiding riverbanks and mountain gorges during the period of expected heavy rainfall and staying informed through official communication channels.
