Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Voodoo have discussed prospects for developing the country’s gaming industry and promoting local projects in international markets, the Uzbek side said.
The talks were held in Paris on the sidelines of the International Space Summit and brought together Bobur Khojaev, head of the Department of Financial Technologies, Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence at the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan; Digital Technologies Minister Sherzod Shermatov; and Yuri Kotikov, Voodoo’s head for Eastern Europe.
The sides focused on developing Uzbekistan’s GameDev ecosystem and potential areas of cooperation with Voodoo.
Uzbek representatives presented an overview of the country’s gaming industry, its development priorities and the conditions created for companies operating in game development.
Voodoo expressed interest in the Uzbek market and said it was ready to support promising gaming startups from Uzbekistan in entering international markets.
The participants also discussed launching educational programmes through Voodoo Academy and organising joint hackathons.
As part of further cooperation, meetings with local game studios are also planned. The sides intend to assess the potential of local companies and identify opportunities to jointly promote promising gaming projects in overseas markets.
