Uzbekistan, Türkiye Discuss Expansion of Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 June 2026, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance Djamschid Kuchkarov held talks in Tashkent with Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Omer Bolat.
The sides discussed the expansion of mutually beneficial socio-economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as the introduction of new areas and projects into bilateral cooperation.
Special attention was given to the development of transport and logistics cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor project, which is considered an important component of international freight transportation.
The parties discussed measures to improve the efficiency of logistics routes and strengthen regional connectivity.
They also addressed prospects for cooperation in agriculture, including the use of Türkiye’s experience in agricultural engineering, the development of modern agricultural machinery production, and joint initiatives in the production of plant protection products.
The meeting also covered projects involving Turkish companies implemented under public-private partnership mechanisms.
Minister of Trade of Türkiye Omer Bolat noted his positive assessment of the reforms underway in Uzbekistan aimed at developing a market economy, improving the investment climate and strengthening the role of the private sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further develop intergovernmental cooperation and expand practical engagement in priority areas.
