Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will screen citizens called up for compulsory military service and candidates seeking to join the armed forces under contract for drug use, the Ministry of Justice’s press service reported.
The relevant procedure has been registered by the Ministry of Justice.
The examinations will be conducted at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Forensic Medical Examination and its branches.
Citizens called up for compulsory military service must undergo screening before being referred to the military medical commission. Candidates for contract service will be examined before undergoing a medical examination at a military medical facility.
The screening will consist of two stages. At the first stage, a urine sample will be tested using a rapid test. If the result is positive, a mass spectrometry examination of urine or blood will be conducted.
Citizens who receive a positive screening result, as well as those who refuse to provide biological samples, will not be admitted for military medical examination.
The ministry said citizens’ personal data and the results of the examinations will be kept confidential.
