Uzbekistan to launch 7 hydropower projects in 2022

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- In the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, special attention is paid to the further development of "green" energy in our country.

In particular, in 2022, 7 projects with a total capacity of 173 MW will be launched in the hydropower industry of Uzbekistan.

In particular, 3 new HPPs will be built in Samarkand region, while 4 existing HPPs in Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Tashkent regions will be modernized.

As a result, 173 MW of new capacities will be created, which will make it possible to increase the total capacity of the country’s hydroelectric power plants to 2,225 MW.
