Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbek-Syrian business forum was held in Tashkent on 19 September with the participation of ministers from the two countries and representatives of business circles.
The Syrian side was represented by the heads of more than 30 major companies from key sectors of the economy, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade said.
The main focus at the forum was on the practical implementation of agreements reached between the countries and the advancement of joint projects.
For the systematic development of economic interaction, a Joint Economic and Trade Committee, a Business Council and a working group led by deputy ministers have been created.
Mutual exhibitions are planned to be held in Uzbekistan and Syria in 2027. A Trade House of Uzbekistan in Aleppo will serve as an additional mechanism for expanding trade ties.
During B2B and B2G meetings, representatives of the two countries discussed specific areas of trade and investment cooperation, promising projects and further steps to implement the agreements reached.
