Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka Expand Business Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation from Sri Lanka led by Aruni Ranaraja, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism. The parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation and developing direct ties between the business communities of the two countries.
During the talks, primary attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects and bringing bilateral economic interaction to a new level.
The participants of the meeting noted significant potential for cooperation in the fields of tourism, textiles, information technology, jewelry manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.
To strengthen interaction between the entrepreneurial communities, it was proposed to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka.
In addition, the Sri Lankan side invited representatives of the Uzbek business community to participate in the international exhibition Sri Lanka Expo 2027, which is viewed as a platform for finding new partners, expanding foreign economic ties, and promoting investment opportunities.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue joint work on implementing the reached agreements and further developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
