Uzbekistan, Russia Discuss Migrant Protection in Far East
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Consul General of Uzbekistan, Khajiakbar Vakhabov, held a meeting with the Acting Head of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok, Evgeny Volosastov. Dunyo news agency reported the meeting.
During the talks, primary attention was paid to matters concerning the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Uzbekistan permanently and temporarily residing in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia.
The parties also discussed the provision of consular and legal assistance, the situation in the sphere of labor migration, and existing issues in this field.
In addition, the participants of the meeting reviewed prospects for the further development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
In particular, the discussions touched upon expanding interregional ties, increasing the export of Uzbek-manufactured products, and developing cultural and humanitarian interaction.
