Uzbekistan, Spain discuss investment cooperation expansion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Spain Farrukh Tursunov held a meeting with Guillermo Kirkpatrick de la Vega, Director of the General Directorate for Cooperation with the State and the European Union of the Madrid Autonomous Community, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan–Spain relations, with special attention to expanding practical cooperation at both bilateral and regional levels.
The Spanish side was briefed on socio-economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, as well as measures to improve the investment climate and create favorable conditions for foreign partners.
Special attention was given to interregional cooperation. In this context, the Tashkent region was highlighted as a promising platform for implementing joint investment projects.
The interlocutors also considered opportunities to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Priority areas identified included energy, including renewable energy sources, supplies of industrial equipment, automotive manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, as well as medical and technology projects.
At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue and expanding economic ties.
