Uzbekistan Signs MoU with Garlic Producers’ Association
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Kahramon Yuldashev, held talks with representatives of the National Association of Garlic Producers of the Russian Federation, during which the parties agreed on steps to develop cooperation in the cultivation and processing of garlic.
The discussions focused on the modernization of garlic farming and the introduction of advanced agricultural technologies.
Particular emphasis was placed on the development of high-yield, export-oriented garlic varieties, as well as the adaptation of Russian breeding varieties to local climatic conditions. The parties also considered expanding the exchange of experience between farming enterprises.
Attention was given to the development of deep processing of garlic products in order to increase value added, expand export markets, and implement international certification standards.
The talks also covered mechanisms for agricultural contracting and the formation of a stable raw material base.
Among the proposals were the organization of training seminars for farmers, field demonstrations, and professional development programs aimed at strengthening skills within the sector.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation, formalizing their intention to further develop joint initiatives in the garlic production sector.
