Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Serbia discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the mining industry, including the production of specialised equipment, introduction of advanced technologies and development of industrial cooperation.

The issues were discussed on 7 September 2026 in Belgrade during the first meeting of the Uzbek-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission. First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology F. Khamidova took part in the meeting.

As part of the event, representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology held a meeting with the State Secretary of Serbia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation with GOSA FOM, a company specialising in the production of equipment and machinery for the mining, metallurgical and energy sectors.

The sides discussed opportunities to expand the production of specialised equipment for the mining industry and introduce modern technologies. The development of industrial cooperation and strengthening the industry’s material and technical base were also identified as priority areas.

The talks formed part of ongoing efforts to develop cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia in the mining industry.
