Uzbekistan Sees Tourism Boost from Global Restaurants

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has continued to strengthen its position as a modern tourism destination by offering visitors not only a rich cultural and historical heritage but also new urban leisure formats in the capital, Tashkent.

The State Committee for Tourism has been consistently implementing measures aimed at developing a comfortable and attractive infrastructure for travelers, with particular emphasis on public spaces and the expansion of tourism routes across the city.

The development of urban infrastructure has been accompanied by strong growth in the HoReCa sector and rising standards in the restaurant industry. Dining establishments are increasingly integrated into the daily life of the city and the tourist experience, creating new points of attraction for both residents and visitors.

This trend has also been noted by international experts. Henrik Winter, President of Tigrus Restaurant Holding, whose group operates restaurants in Tashkent including Osteria Mario and Shvili, stated that Uzbekistan has become one of the most dynamically developing restaurant markets in the region.

According to his assessment, the country has seen a significant improvement in culinary concepts in recent years, alongside growing attention to service quality and a more mature dining culture. These factors have created favorable conditions for further sector growth and the entry of international brands.

The Government of Uzbekistan has set a strategic goal of increasing inbound tourist flows from 12 million in 2026 to 20 million by 2030. The development of the gastronomic sector is seen as an important component in achieving this target.

Overall, the expansion of international restaurant chains has become a key driver in transforming the urban economy and enhancing the tourism attractiveness of the capital.

The restaurant sector is playing an increasingly important role in shaping the modern image of Tashkent, where national traditions and global culinary practices are being combined.

This is contributing to a more competitive urban environment, growing interest from foreign visitors, and strengthening Uzbekistan’s image as an open and rapidly developing tourism destination.
