Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 96,415 Uzbek citizens returned to Uzbekistan over a 10-day period, the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan reported, presenting the results of efforts to assist citizens temporarily working in Russia between 25 August and 5 September 2026.
Of the total, 54,885 people returned directly to Uzbekistan, while another 41,530 citizens entered the country through Kazakhstan.
During the period, practical assistance was provided to 5,467 citizens. Responsible ministries and agencies received a total of 6,413 requests, which are handled around the clock.
As part of the work with citizens, specialists made field visits to seven Russian regions — Moscow, Tula, Kursk, Kaluga, Ryazan, Oryol and Voronezh. More than 3,000 citizens were covered during these visits.
One area of work was assistance with employment. Representatives of the relevant authorities held talks with 20 major employers, identifying more than 2,500 available jobs.
During the reporting period, 1,669 citizens were returned to Uzbekistan. Of these, 660 arrived by air and 1,009 by bus.
A total of 2,681 citizens received legal assistance. Another 726 people were provided with certificates for return to Uzbekistan.
Employment assistance was provided to 272 citizens.
Material assistance was provided to 59 citizens. Wage arrears were recovered in favor of 31 people. Another 29 citizens received other forms of assistance.
To resolve issues promptly, the Migration Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs and other responsible agencies receive citizens’ requests around the clock.
In October 2026, a joint pilot project is planned to be launched for the organized recruitment of citizens for employment.
Responsible agencies continue to provide legal and employment assistance to Uzbek citizens abroad, support people facing difficult circumstances, seek new employment opportunities for those who have lost their jobs and assist those wishing to return to Uzbekistan.
