Uzbekistan Revives Boysun Bahori Folk Festival in Surkhandarya
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The International Folklore Festival “Boysun Bahori” was officially opened in Surkhandarya region, southern Uzbekistan, reaffirming its role as a major platform for promoting national culture and rich folkloric traditions.
The opening ceremony was led by Surkhandarya regional governor Ulugbek Kosimov and Chairman of the Tourism Committee Abdulaziz Akkulov.
During the event, officials and international guests visited exhibition pavilions representing cities and districts of the region. These displays featured examples of traditional handicrafts, applied arts, and reconstructions of historical lifestyles. The festival showcased Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage, ancient customs, and distinctive traditions.
The program brought together folklore art performances and cultural presentations from both Uzbek and foreign participants, highlighting the diversity of global traditions. Organizers emphasized that such events strengthen intercultural dialogue and promote mutual respect among nations.
