Uzbekistan produces 211,900 tonnes of melons and gourds in 1H

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - In January-June 2021, 211,900 tonnes of melons and gourds were grown, which is 3.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2020.

In dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, high indicators have been achieved in comparison with other categories of farms – 133,300 tonnes or 62.9% of the total cultivation of melons and gourds.

Compared to last year, there was an increase in private farms by 4.6%, in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 3.4%.

The largest share in the total volume of cultivated melons and gourds in the Republic fell on the Surkhandarya (27.3%), Kashkadarya (15.9%), Bukhara (9.4%) and Andijan (9.1%) regions.
