Uzbekistan President Meets Azerbaijan Prime Minister Ali Asadov
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The meeting was also attended by executives of Azerbaijani companies PASHA Holding, Neqsol Holding, AzerGold, and the International Bank of Azerbaijan.
At the beginning of the talks, Ali Asadov conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the President of Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the National Salvation Day, which was marked the previous day.
The sides reviewed current issues related to the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan relations of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance.
The meeting noted with satisfaction the high dynamics of bilateral contacts at various levels. It was emphasized that mutual trade has increased by 40% since the beginning of the current year.
The discussions highlighted the successful advancement of joint projects in construction, energy, mining, geology, logistics, tourism, and other sectors of the economy.
Particular attention was paid to preparing the economic agenda of the upcoming high-level summit. In this context, the importance of ensuring the effectiveness of the planned meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Regional Forum was emphasized.
Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further developing multifaceted cooperation and implementing joint investment and cooperation projects.
