Uzbekistan launches project to preserve musical heritage

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Arts and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, payment system UZCARD and iz have launched the Uzbekistan Music Heritage project to preserve and promote the country’s musical heritage.

The initiative combines cultural projects and modern technologies to preserve and distribute landmark recordings of Uzbek music, the Culture and Arts Development Foundation of Uzbekistan said.

As part of the initiative, the first vinyl release by iz, Sherali Djurayev’s “Oq Qayin,” was presented. The presentation took place as part of the launch of the Uzbekistan Music Heritage project.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to Sherali Djurayev’s family for their trust and support for the initiative.
