Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An exhibition on art at the court of the Emir of Bukhara at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg drew about 110,000 visitors over four months, according to preliminary data. The Cultural and Arts Development Foundation of Uzbekistan said.
The exhibition, titled “Discovering the Palace Chambers: Art at the Court of the Emir of Bukhara,” brought together 75 museum objects from the collections of leading Uzbek museums and the State Hermitage Museum.
The exhibits introduced visitors to the artistic culture of the Bukhara Emirate, traditions of palace life, as well as decorative and applied arts and jewelry from Central Asia.
The exhibition presented the cultural heritage of the Bukhara Emirate through museum objects reflecting the characteristics of palace culture and the region’s artistic traditions.
The Cultural and Arts Development Foundation of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to State Hermitage Museum Director General Mikhail Piotrovsky, as well as to the partners and specialists involved in preparing and staging the exhibition.
The foundation also noted the contribution of all participants to the successful implementation of the exhibition project.
