Uzbekistan Judo Team Wins Gold and Bronze at Astana Grand Slam

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek judokas won two medals—gold and bronze—on the opening day of the Judo Grand Slam tournament in Astana, which began on 8 May.

Both medals were earned in the men’s 66 kg weight category. In the final, Abdurakhim Nutfulloev defeated Russia’s Saigad Kerimov to take first place and win the gold medal.

In the bronze medal contest, Anvarjon Ibrokhimov secured victory over Kazakhstan’s Nurkanat Serikbayev, finishing the competition in third place.

The tournament is part of the International Judo Federation Grand Slam series.
