Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with Ravi Jaipuria, Chairman and Founder of the Indian business conglomerate RJ Corp, as well as executives from one of India’s largest hotel chains, Lemon Tree Hotels, and the real estate development company Trident Realty.

The sides discussed areas where Uzbek-Indian business cooperation could be further expanded.

During the talks, Uzbekistan reaffirmed its interest in building long-term partnerships with international companies capable of introducing modern business models, management expertise, global brands, and new quality standards.

Particular attention was given to prospects for cooperation in the food industry, including projects in beverage bottling and packaging. Opportunities for production localization and дальнейшего выхода на рынок Центральной Азии were also considered.

The parties also discussed prospects for developing the hospitality sector. Given the growing tourist flow and increasing demand for modern accommodation formats, significant potential was noted for launching franchising projects and new development initiatives.

The government’s readiness to support such projects was emphasized, including assistance in site selection and the creation of conditions necessary for their effective implementation.

In addition, the sides reviewed the potential of special economic zones as platforms for establishing new high value-added production facilities.

It was noted that each new project should contribute to the development of the industrial base, job creation, increased localization, and the expansion of the country’s export potential.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in continuing dialogue and implementing joint initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.
