Uzbekistan Expands Cooperation With Drug Control Body

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Narcotics Control Board, Stefano Berterame.

During the talks, the parties discussed improving Uzbekistan’s national system for controlling the circulation of narcotic substances. It was noted that international expert assessment of ongoing measures in this field is of significant importance for the country.

Special attention was given to the development of analytical and laboratory infrastructure, the introduction of digital monitoring tools, and the training of specialized personnel.

The sides also discussed practical aspects of an upcoming mission visit by the Board to Uzbekistan, during which the current system will be assessed and future areas of cooperation will be identified.
