Uzbekistan, ECO Discuss Economic Integration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvokhid Azimov held talks with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Asad Majeed Khan on 5 June, focusing on strengthening practical cooperation within the organisation.
The discussions centred on transport connectivity, expansion of trade and economic ties among member states, digitalisation of customs procedures, and the removal of existing barriers to the movement of goods and services.
The two sides also reviewed the implementation of initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at ECO summits.
In particular, they discussed the продвижение of the document “Strategic Goals of Economic Cooperation – 2035”, the signing of the Agreement on Trade Facilitation, and further steps to deepen economic integration within the organisation.
The parties also exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming ECO events and coordination of joint work on ongoing projects and initiatives.
