Chinor Metro Station to Reopen After Reconstruction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chinor station on the Chilanzar Line of the Tashkent Metro will resume operations at 5 a.m. on 29 July following major reconstruction, the Tashkent Metro press service said.

The project expanded the station's entrance and exit areas. The number of entry turnstiles was increased from six to 13, which is expected to improve passenger flow.

Before reconstruction, the station served an average of about 15,000 passengers per day. Its estimated daily capacity has more than doubled following the works, reaching 35,000–40,000 passengers.

The above-ground pedestrian crossings were also completely redesigned after previously causing inconvenience for passengers. The changes now allow direct passage between Chinor station and Kipchak station on the Circle Line.

The reconstruction was carried out on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov. The project also included plans to install four high-capacity lifts.

Chinor station was closed on 10 June, and reconstruction work began on 13 June. The work was initially scheduled to take 50 days, with the station planned to reopen on 2 August.

Free metrobus services were arranged between Chinor and Yangihayot stations during the reconstruction.
