Uzbekistan, DFC Discuss Expansion of Investment Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 June 2026, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance Djamschid Kuchkarov held talks in Tashkent with Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States. It was noted that active political dialogue at the leadership level and mutual trust are helping to elevate bilateral relations to a new stage of development.
Special attention was given to the role of DFC as a key partner in supporting Uzbekistan’s private sector, financing infrastructure projects and attracting strategic investments.
The parties reviewed potential areas of cooperation in transport and logistics infrastructure, including road and railway development, as well as issues of improving regional connectivity and implementing public-private partnership projects.
Discussions also covered prospects for cooperation in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence technologies and data center development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further develop practical cooperation with DFC, expand private capital participation and promote joint investment projects in priority sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
