Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Competition Committee has helped consumers recover payments, replace defective products and resolve complaints involving vehicle repairs, delayed deliveries and warranty services, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection said.

The committee's regional offices handled complaints from residents of several regions concerning retail trade, transport services and warranty obligations.

In Nukus, a resident reported a faulty monitor in a recently purchased car. According to the complaint, contacting Nukus Avtosavdo LLC had not resolved the issue. Following the intervention of committee specialists, the monitor was replaced with a new one free of charge.

In Andijan region, a passenger received a refund for train tickets on the Samarkand-Andijan route. The passenger said the money had not been returned after the trip was cancelled. The payment was subsequently transferred to the passenger's bank card.

In Bukhara region, the committee's regional office helped resolve technical problems with a Damas vehicle. The owner had repeatedly contacted Bukhoroavtotekhkhizmat LLC but had been unable to secure repairs independently.

In Jizzakh region, a customer who had paid for a Chery Tiggo 7 Life faced delays in receiving the vehicle. The dealership had promised delivery within 10 days but failed to meet the deadline. Following the intervention of the regional office, the car was delivered to the buyer.

In Namangan region, a complaint concerning a faulty inverter in a household solar panel system was resolved. The equipment had broken down during the warranty period. After committee representatives explained the relevant legal requirements to Azizbek Energy LLC, the company replaced the inverter with a new one valued at 6 million soums.

In Tashkent region, a customer secured a refund for a defective refrigerator purchased from an Idea store.

Although a service centre had confirmed the refrigerator's malfunction, the store initially refused to replace the product or refund the payment. Following the review of the complaint, the sales contract was terminated and IDEA CONCEPT GROUP returned 5.129 million soums to the customer.

The committee said it would continue its efforts to protect consumers' rights and legitimate interests on a systematic basis.
