Uzbekistan, Armenia Discuss New Areas of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The latest round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Armenia was held in Yerevan on 7 September 2026. The delegations were led by Deputy Foreign Ministers Bobur Usmanov and Mnatsakan Safaryan.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres. They also reviewed progress in implementing tasks set during contacts at the highest and high levels.

The participants confirmed their shared interest in expanding the legal framework for bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation on international platforms.

Particular attention was paid to practical ways of using the potential for cooperation in industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, tourism and education.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue close coordination between the two foreign ministries. They intend to strengthen practical cooperation across a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
