Uzbekistan approves Memory and Honor Day program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has approved a program of events dedicated to 9 May— the Day of Memory and Honor. The relevant Presidential Resolution No. PP–139 dated April 16, 2026 provides for a comprehensive set of measures aimed at honoring memory and supporting veterans.

The events will be held under the slogan “Duty, Courage, Bravery!” Within this framework, spiritual and educational meetings, “three-generation meetings,” thematic exhibitions, as well as mass sports competitions will be organized.

Special attention is given to social support for participants of the Second World War, veterans of the labor front, as well as families of servicemen and law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during the years of independence.

Material and moral assistance is provided for these categories.

In addition, veterans of the Second World War and the labor front will, at their request, be provided with free treatment in sanatoriums across the republic, including the possibility of accompaniment by one family member.

In Tashkent, a festive fireworks display dedicated to the Day of Memory and Honor is scheduled for 9 May 2026 at 21:00.
