Uzbekistan and WHO Discuss Healthcare Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on the sidelines of the international forum on countering drug threats taking place in Samarkand.
During the talks, the sides reviewed key areas for further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the WHO. Particular attention was given to ongoing healthcare reforms in the country, the introduction of digital solutions in medicine, the improvement of pharmaceutical sector regulation, and the expansion of regional cooperation.
The discussions also focused on strengthening partnership with the WHO in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of drug addiction, which is considered one of the priority areas of joint work.
