Uzbekistan and Tajikistan expand customs cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A bilateral meeting between the customs authorities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was held at the “Jartepa” customs post, focusing on the development of cooperation and the simplification of procedures for the movement of goods and vehicles across the state border.
The talks were attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan Nodir Musamukhamedov and First Deputy Head of the Customs Service of Tajikistan Azim Tursunzoda. The sides reviewed measures aimed at improving the operation of border crossing points and strengthening institutional cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries.
Special attention was given to the digitalization of customs services and the exchange of technological experience. The Tajik side presented the VIN.TJ vehicle identification and processing system, introduced on 16 March 2026.
During the meeting, the Uzbek delegation noted the high level of development of digital solutions implemented by Uzbekistan and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in this field.
At the conclusion of the talks, the parties agreed to continue strengthening cooperation through the introduction of modern digital tools in customs operations and improving the efficiency of border control procedures.
