Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — At the Kuksaroy residence, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.

The leaders discussed key issues for further strengthening Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance. Particular attention was given to coordinated measures to expand mutual trade and promote joint projects in industry, energy, agriculture, and other priority sectors.

They emphasized the importance of active cultural and humanitarian exchanges and the expansion of interregional contacts, which make a significant contribution to building trust and mutual understanding.

The presidents also exchanged views on deepening regional cooperation in Central Asia, including efforts to ensure stability and sustainable development in the region.
